Hello everyone! It’s already the last day of July! Hope you’re having a cool Summer/cozy Winter 🙂 ! It’s TaeEun here today with a couple of cards featuring our gorgeous Large Peony stamps. I made two cards in the same layout.
For the first card I wanted to use one of my favorite color combination- coral and gray. But I failed to create coral watercolor while I was coloring the peonies. So it turned to yellow, orange, coral and gray combination :)!
I started off by heat embossing the Large Peony 1, 4 and 5 on Canson Mixed Media paper in Rose Gold embossing powder. I colored the flowers using Mijello Mission gold watercolor and die cut them using coordinating dies.
I ink blended Peach Blossom and Crystal Pewter on a white cardbase to make a background in coral and gray. I splattered white opaque ink on it and let it dry. The sentiment was cut using Love and Hugs word plate die three times from white cardstock. I heat embossed one of them partially in Rose Gold and stacked all three die cut words together.
I then started assembling the card together. First I adhered the leaves on the cardbase and arranged three peonies on it using some foam adhesives. The butterflies were cut using Butterfly Swirl die from some watercolor paper and colored in yellow. I sponged the edge of the butterflies in Peach Blossom and added them to the card. To finish off I adhered three Glass Slippers Round Confetti sequins and added glitter on the butterflies and the word.
The second card has the same layout like the first one. But I stamped and colored the peonies on a watercolor paper panel in the one layer style using masking technique.
I stamped the images in light ink to do no-line coloring. I used mainly Ultramarine Deep and Prussian Blue of my watercolor with a hint of light blue Zig brush marker to color the flowers. After coloring was completed, I splattered white opaque ink on the whole panel.
For this card I cut the word “hugs” from watercolor paper and colored it in the same colors I used for the flowers. The butterflies were also watercolored in light blue.
I narrowed down the colored panel a little bit and foam mounted it on a white cardbase. The sentiment and butterflies were added and the card was finished.
Thank you so much for visiting today! Hope you enjoyed looking my cards!
Have a happy and crafty day!
