Hello and welcome back, everyone! I had to take a bit of a break for about a month but I’m back from my hiatus and will be posting more frequently going forward!
For my project today, I created a watercolored floral card using our new Daisy Fields stamp. This is our newest background stamp from our Spring 2019 Collection.
I started off by white heat embossing this photopolymer background stamp onto watercolor paper. Then I did some wet on wet watercoloring with some Ken Oliver Color Bursts. For the petals, I used Cadmium Red. For the centers, I used Burnt Umber and then put a layer of Wisteria over the brown to give the center a warmer tone. For the largest daisy only, I added some additional detailing using a Geranium Red Zig Marker.
Once the largest daisy was colored and detailed, I did some quick watercoloring with the rest of the daisies on the panel. I did not add the zig marker detailing to the smaller daisies because they’re not too large and looked perfectly fine with the single layer of color. Once the petals were all colored, I added some Lime Color Burst to the leaves and stems. The rest of the daisy centers were colored using the Burnt Umber and Wisteria combination.
Once my watercoloring was complete, I adhered my panel onto a side folding A2 base. Then I created my sentiment strip by white heat embossing the Congratulations stamp (from our City Girls: Spring Smiles set) onto black cardstock. Once trimmed, I popped it up onto my panel and then finalized my card by adding three Glass Slippers sequins around my sentiment.
