Hello crafty friends & happy Friday!! Do you have big plans for the weekend?
Brenda here, I have two floral cards to share with you today…one is for the holidays (with a surprise inside) and the other is a winter birthday card. Both use one of the new cling background stamps. Let’s start with the holiday card…
I was so excited when Effie designed these new background stamps. They add just the right amount of interest to floral cards, but still let the florals shine!!
I began by stamping the image from Coming Up Poinsettias with Caviar Ink. After coloring them with Copic markers and colored pencils, they were cut out with the Coming Up Poinsettias Coordinating Die. The Modern Plaid Cling Background Stamp was stamped onto black cardstock with Versamark Ink and heat embossed in white. I cut the panel with the 2nd largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large). I chose a purple cardstock that complimented my poinsettias and cut a panel from it using the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large). The sentiment is also from the Coming Up Poinsettias set. It was heat embossed in white onto black cardstock. The poinsettias and sentiment were popped up with foam adhesive. Silver Stickles were added to the centers of the poinsettias and a scattering of Silver Metallic Sequins finish off the outside of the card nicely.
But wait…there’s more!!
I thought the Pop-Up Poinsettia was the perfect addition to the inside of the card!! I chose two colors of purple paper, green cardstock and some silver glitter paper for the center.
We have so many family birthdays coming up in December!! Along with mine, we also have two nieces and an aunt that I share my birthday month with. I decided to color the Amazing Gardenia for my aunt.
This has to be among my favorite stamps of all time!! It is so great to color!! I chose to try some no-line coloring this time around. I stamped the gardenia with Rose Quartz Ink onto white cardstock. After coloring it with Copics and colored pencils, the Amazing Gardenia Coordinating Die was used to cut out the image. I stamped the Fresh Linen Background Cling Stamp with Rose Quartz Ink onto white cardstock and trimmed the top and bottom down slightly. I cut an A2 size panel from plum cardstock and adhered it to a cardbase. I applied some Silver Glitter Tape to the top and bottom so that when the stamped panel was adhered, a thin line of silver glitter peeked out from underneath. The sentiment, from Coming Up Poinsettias, was white heat embossed on plum cardstock. The gardenia and sentiment were popped up with foam adhesive, with a line of Silver Glitter Tape under the sentiment. A generous sprinkle of Glass Slipper Round Confetti Mix adds some more shine.
That does it for me today!! I’ll see you soon!!!
love love love the purple poinsettias!!
