Cozy Winter Wishes

Hi peeps! How’s it going? Vera here today to starts off your week with a project for The Ton.

I am currently swimming on a sea of Chritmas/holiday cards as Caring Hearts Card Drive just finished and my team of volunteers and I are sorting through the hundreds of packages that came in and packing them for the various nursing home.

So, I don’t have a bunch of time for crafting at the moment, but I did manage to play a bit last night.

This was my first time to finally try out the Snowflake Layering Coverplate Die Bundle. I just love how pretty they are!

To start, I ran the 1st die on a piece of white cardstock and then inked it up with distress oxide inks. Then adhere the piece to the card base. Next, I ran the same dies on a piece of Glossy Adhesive Glitter Paper in Fine Silver.

And, here comes the fun or not so fun, LOL, depends on your level of patience. Adhere the silver snowflake stickers to all  the open snowflake space on the card base. Of course, I couldn’t manage to do the smallest dots. Those I filled with Nuvo enamel dots.

Next, while waiting for the enamel dots to dry, I worked on the sentiment. I used the sentiment from Cozy Poinsettia set on a piece of vellum and heat embossed it with black embossing powder. Wrap it around the card.

Now, I could just stop here, but I feel it’s missing something. So, I decided to layered a couple of the snowflakes. This time I die cut the snowflake from dies number 2 from the bundle. It has different shape of snowflake. I die cut once on a piece of cardstock and then again from the adhesive glitter paper  and layered them.

I did this because I didn’t want to just layer the silver snowflake on top one another flat. I want to adhere it with foam tape to make it pop up a bit more, thus I need to make it a bit sturdy.

Yep, there’s totally lots of sparkles and glitters on this card!! After all it’s the season to be festive, right?

Well peeps, we have pretty chilly days in Houston, so my winter card is totally reflecting the weather here. LOL, I am a wimp when it comes to cold weather. Anything below 50 and I am bundled up!! That’s all from me today.

Hope your week starts off wonderfully. Cheers…..

Vera

Love the softness of this card. Thank you for all of your work on Caring Hearts Drive. I know how much the residents look forward to the cards every year. I brightnens the holiday for them and in some cases it is the only thing that brightens their season
