Blizzard Hugs

Hello and happy Halloween everyone!!!  It’s TaeEun here today with two wintery cards made using our new stamp set, Blizzard Hugs and it’s coordinating dies! Of course there is a Halloween card at the end of this post 🙂 !

Blizzard Hugs  has three unique snowflake images in different sizes. The largest one measures approximately 4.25 x 5.25 inches at its widest points. The snowflakes are halo images, not outlined snowflakes. The coordinating dies cut the actual snowflake shapes.

I fell in love with the large snowflake and decided to use it for my cards for today :)!

To start off I’ve created a watercolor washed panel in Purple and blue. I used liquid watercolors and blended Grape Crush and Cobalt Breeze on the panel to make it more vibrant. After the panel was dry, I white heat embossed the largest snowflake on it and cut the matching snowflake using coordinating die.  I used the negative panel for this card.

To inlay a sparkly snowflake I cut one more snowflake from a white cardstock on which I adhered Adhesive Glitter paper Glossy Fine Silver. The panel with the inlaid snowflake was foam mounted on a white cardbase.

To add the sentiment I went with a coordinating die of Holiday Chic Tags set. I cut the fishtail tag from a heavyweight white cardstock and dry embossed the snowflake using the coordinating die on it. I aligned the snowflake on the tag with the one on the front panel. I cut out the part of the snowflake, which is on the tag, from some Adhesive Glitter paper Glossy Fine Silver and adhered it onto the tag. The dry embossed snowflake worked as the guide.

The sentiment is from Blizzard Hugs as well. I silver heat embossed it on a strip of vellum and added it on the tag and foam mounted the tag onto the card.

The second card is showcasing the sparkle of the Adhesive Glitter Paper Glossy Fine Transparent. My absolute favorite glitter paper!!!

I cut the Adhesive Glitter Paper Glossy Fine Transparent  in A2 size and cut the snowflake from it.  I adhered the glittery adhesive snowflake on the snowflake I’ve gotten from the first card. And the negative die cut of the adhesive paper was adhered on a A2 sized white cardstock.

I cut one more snowflake from a light blue fun foam to raise the snowflake from the front panel. I then assembled the card together.

The sentiment was stamped in ombre using Grape Crush and Cobalt Breeze on a strip of white cardstock. I adhered Adhesive Glitter Paper Glossy Fine Transparent  on it, matted it with Adhesive Glitter Paper Glossy Fine Silver. I hope you could see the sparkle on this card!!!

So you’ve seen two cards I made using positive and negative die cut snowflakes! Hope you liked the frosty holiday cards!

As I couldn’t let you go without a Halloween card today, I made one for you :)!

TT1031 H 1 WM

I transformed a bear from Honey Bears set into a witch. The cape and witch hat were hand drawn. I stamped a pumpkin from Thankful Cornucopia set as a Jack o’lantern. The images were stamped in Caviar Hybrid ink to color using Copic markers. I then fussy cut the witch bear and set it aside.

The letters for halloween were cut using Bold General Greeting Word Plate dies, once from white cardstock and once from purple fun foam. I blended Coraline Hybrid ink on the bottom of each letter and adhered it on the purple fun foam die cut. As the letters were together longer than A2 size, I made a 4′ x 6′ card.

TT1031 H CU5 WM

I cut a smaller white panel, blended Lemon Drop and Coraline Hybrid ink where the Jack o’lantern would be and foam mounted the panel on the cardbase. I added a purple glitter tape and adhered the die cut letters on the bottom of the front panel.  The witch was also foam mounted. The “happy” from Basic Labels set was stamped in Coraline Hybrid ink.  To finish off the card I added Glossy Accents on the pumpkin and on the heart of the bear’s chest and scattered some sequins from Valentine Frosting, Flamenco Sunset Couture Mix and Lemon Chiffon sequins mix.

Thank you so much for stopping by today! Hope you enjoyed looking my cards!

Wishing you all a fun and crafty day!

Hugs,

TaeEun

This snowflake really fills the card and love both versions with their glittery finish and a lovely sentiment to finishTaeEun. Such a fun Halloween card too with the sweet caped bear and love that large word die, a real statement on a card. x
