Hello, everyone! I have my first seasonal card of the year. I am still on a bit of a break from my watercolors so I’m stamping! I used our Winter Cardinal and Peony Notes for this card today.

I started off by stamping the body of the cardinal in our Lipstick Red Dye ink (Noir for the black part). Once I stamped the cardinal, I stamped our Peony Notes Bundle (Valentine Red, Found Topaz, Aspen Cocoa, Deep Emerald and Everglade Moss Dye Inks) and die cut that cluster image.

Next I stamped some pine branches from the cardinal set in our Deep Emerald. I made sure to stamp extra branches since I knew I would be building up a bit of a scene.  Once I had all my stamped elements die cut, I blended on some Cobalt Breeze dye ink onto the top portion of an A2 panel using a stencil brush. All I did was some light ink blending for my winter sky. Next, I white heat embossed my snow clusters to the top half of my panel.

Once the heat embossing was complete, I added stitching to the edges of my card panel using the largest die from our Double Stitched Rectangles Large die collection. Next I assembled my card using dimensional foam tape. I loved the look of the cardinal nestled in a combination of this beautiful peony cluster and pine branches!

For my sentiment, I white heat embossed the sentiment onto black cardstock. I added a silver glitter sentiment strip behind the black one and popped that up onto my card. Lastly, I added Clear Rhinestones and popped up the cardinal tail with one piece of foam tape.

I love my florals and I love my birds so this card really made me happy! Our Winter Cardinal Set was inspired by my block printing project from last year. What do you think of my project for today? I hope you enjoy my post!
