Birthday Morpho

Hey there!! Brenda, with you today. I just love the butterfly die-cuts that Effie designed!! I used the Pop-Up Butterfly Dies: Morpho for today’s card.

I began by die-cutting the Morpho Butterfly six times from heavyweight white cardstock. These dies were meant to be used to pop up off the page or the inside of a card. I just cut off the pop-up portion. The negative pieces of the bottom die were colored with Copic markers, then four of the white die cuts were adhered onto it. I cut the background from white cardstock with the 2 Piece Foliage Coverplate Die and adhered it to a white panel cut with the Double Stitched Rectangle (Small), for a tone-on-tone look. I adhered the butterfly to the background, filled the “wells” of the butterfly with Tonic Crystal Glaze and set it aside to dry overnight. The final die-cut layer of the butterfly was heated embossed with silver embossing powder twice and adhered on top of the stacked butterfly dies. I love this stained glass look!! The sentiment, from Anemone Bouquet, was heat embossed in silver onto a strip of blue cardstock. and popped up with foam adhesive. Finally, Glass Slippers Round Confetti Mix was scattered around the butterfly.
