Hi there lovely peeps. How’s it going? Vera here today bring you mid week inspiration from The Ton.
I decided to dig on some older sets and give them some love. Well, they’re really not that old, they were released this year, just earlier this year. 🙂 Growing up, my favorite flowers were carnations, so feeling a bit melancholy, I chose to play with Fresh Cut Carnations.
To start, I stamped the flowers & the stems in various colors. From The Ton I used Soft Orchid, Hollywood Star & Lemon Drop. Then I die cut all the pieces with the coordinating Fresh Cut Carnations dies. Put these aside.
Next, I work on the background. I stamped the Buildable Woodgrain. That’s the good thing about playing with older set, it reminds you how great they are. I love that this woodgrain set looks so real.
Next, I arranged the flowers on the panel. At first, I was only going to put 2 flowers, but I changed my mind and decided 3 is better. The professional said odd number is better for design and I agreed. As you can see, well, hopefully you can see, I like to add dimesnion to my card. I adhere the bottom part of the panel just with regular glue, but add foam tape to the top of the stem. In my opinion, it makes it less boring.
Adhere the panel to the card base & work on the sentiment. For the sentiment I used the word Happy die from Peony Laurel coordinating dies and colored it with Copic. Finished by stamping the word birthday from Peony Laurel set in Violet Fringe and I am done. 🙂
Playing with some older sets sure get me thinking. What’s your favorite flower set from The Ton? For me, I can’t just pick one. Nesting Peonies & Peony Laurel are among my top ones.
Well peeps, that’s all for me for today. Hope you enjoy today’s card & hope your week been a good one and continue to be good. Cheers….
