Unicorn Love

Hi peeps! How’s it going? Vera here today bringing you Friday inspiration from The Ton.

I spent my 4th of July stamping & coloring since it was a rainy day in Houston. What better way spending rainy day than stamping & coloring, right? Well, that and snuggling with my pups & reading, of course. 🙂

Anyway, I decided to give some love to Lavish Donuts & Unicorns Bundle set, since it’s been a while since I play with this set. And, here’s the result:

I really, really love the way this card turned out. This purple, blue & green color combo is so pretty.

Now, a lot of time when I make my card, I create at random. Sometime, I have plan and sometime I don’t. Or I have plan and then deviate from that plan. Hah!

So, for this card, I started by stamping & heat embossing the ears and the unicorn horn with copper embossing powder. Then, in all honesty, I messed up my card along the way (that’s what happened when you don’t pay attention that there’s ink on your finger and you touch the card you’re working on). I don’t like to waste, so I just die cut the ears & horn using Lavish Unicorn Ears & Horn Bundle dies and adhere it to a new panel.

Stamp & die cut the flowers (love, love the combination of Soft Amethyst & Orchid Crush) and adhere to the card with foam adhesive. Stamped the eyes and the sentiment (I used the I Love You from Coming Up Daisies set) with Caviar ink. Added a bit of eye shadow to the eyelashes with Copic and then add some shimmer to it. After all, unicorn is all glitter and rainbow, right? 😉

Now, this is what happened when you didn’t plan well. After I was done, I looked at the card & thought, oh darn it, the card would look better with some sprinkles from Toned Squares. I can’t remove the horn & the ears since they’re already glued down. So, I decided to strategically cover some area and try to stamped the Toned Squares without messing up the card. Some of the ink didn’t stamp perfectly as I was too nervous when I press down the stamp. No worries, that’s where Copic come handy. I simply fill in the square areas with it. 🙂

I made this card just for my niece who’s been in my mind lately. She’s going through some stuff & I simply want to let her know that I love her & think the world of her. She’s my sunshine & my unicorn. 🙂

Well peeps, that’s all from me on this fine Friday. May your Friday be a great one (after all it’s almost weekend!!). Cheers….

Vera
