Jigsaw Hearts and Bokeh Fun.

Hello, it’s Lisa here.  I’m stopping by The Ton blog today to share a few cards I made with you.   Today I’m working with The Ton’s super cute Heart Jigsaw dies.   Have you seen them?   The Ton has two Heart Jigsaw dies that are sold separately.  They are the same size but the designs are a little different. One has puzzle pieces that are in a stitched design and the other actually cuts out each individual puzzle piece.  Today I’m using both!

Card #1 –  I used the following supplies from The Ton shop:

I decided to make a shaker card by first creating a bokeh background using The Ton’s Boke Burst Round stamp set.    This is such a fun stamping technique that involves stamping different sized circles in many different shades of color.   The more you overlap the circles, the more depth you will create in your background.  I used three different shades of pink and then I stamped some circles on top with  Hampton White Pigment Ink for a soft, dreamy affect.

After stamping, I diecut a stitched rectangle frame and then a heart from the middle.

I used a clear piece of transparency film and dimensional tape to create the shaker frame for this card.   The white card base is stamped with the large bokeh stamp.   I filled the shaker with some of The Ton’s Couture Mixes and adhered the frame.  I glued the heart on the outside of the shaker and added an embossed sentiment.

Card #2 – I used the following supplies from The Ton Shop:

I simply created this card using the leftover pieces of the bokeh background from the first card.

This is a faux shaker card where I just glued the sequin mix directly into the heart.  No clear window was needed.  I love that the heart dies also cut out a thin frame around the heart.

Card #3 – I used the following supplies from The Ton shop:

I created the heart on this card by using the Heart Jigsaw Cut Version die.  You can see here the difference in the heart dies.  The cut version is an actual puzzle!  Each individual piece cuts out and can be assembled piece by piece.   Here I cut the heart out of a gingham background that I created using The Ton’s Haute Stripes Cling Background.

I stamped three pretty layered Wild Dahlias for a pop of color against the Lofty Mint.

Card #4 – I used the following supplies from The Ton shop:

For my final card today I strayed away from the hearts and just made a fun card for a special, tea loving friend of mine.  I started out by making another “gingham” background using that fabulous Haute Stripes Cling Background.    I stamped out teapot and cups using The Ton’s Copic friendly Caviar ink.  To make a lighter shade for the tea I stamped off the Spiced Chai ink on a piece of scrap paper once, then stamped in the cup.  I love the soft affect.  I colored the teapot and cup handles with Copic markers.

I made the tea pot a little more dimensional by stamping and coloring an extra lid.  Then I cut it out and popped it up with some dimensional tape.  I wrapped white embroidery floss around it and added a little tag for the tea bag.

Well, that’s all for me today.  And friends, I’m sad to say this will be my last posting here at the The Ton.    I’ll be stepping away from the design team due to some personal issues that need my attention at this time.  I have truly enjoyed every minute I’ve spent working here with Effie, her beautiful creations and all the ladies on The Ton’s fabulous design team.   My thanks to Effie for giving me this opportunity to play along with all of you here at The Ton.  I’ll see you around…..I promise!

Until then…….happy stamping!

Beautiful bokeh effects and a great way to get lots of cards from one panel. My favorite here is the heart with the 3 dahlias: simple, clever, can be used for many occasions!
