Layton’s Legacy Card Drive and Fundraiser for NICU Parents

Hello, everyone and welcome back to The Season! We are so honored to be a part of Lea Lawson’s special fundraising event blog hop! For more details behind her story and this incredible event, head over to Lea’s blog.

We are one of many companies sponsoring this event. Specifically, we are giving away a $25 gift certificate to our shop* and a stamp set of choice.

*Gift certificate only applies to The Ton branded stamps, dies, ink and gilding.

You can donate, shop and/or create to support this fundraiser event.  Head over to Lea’s blog for more details on how to contribute and to stay updated on the fundraising progress.

In addition to a fundraiser, this event also includes a blog hop with some really talented individuals. All creations have been inspired by this mood board put together by Lea.

Here is my project!

nicu hop anemone card

For my card, I chose the beautiful and subtle color palette created by Lea for my Anemone Border watercolored card.

Be sure to follow us on YouTube for more inspiration! I update our channel on a weekly basis!

I started off by gold heat embossing my Anemone Border image onto watercolor paper (Canson XL 140lb). Then I added my subtle bits of watercolor using a wet on wet technique. I used the same hues in the mood board (gray, mint and yellow).

Next, I watercolored a separate piece of watercolor paper with the same warm yellow tone used on my floral panel. I die cut my amazing word plate sentiment right onto the watercolored pattern and then popped up the individual letters with foam tape. I additional die cut the you from mint cardstock and adhered that directly onto my floral panel. Lastly, added our Clear Rhinestones to embellish my project.

I hope you enjoyed my project! Your next stop is Waffleflower!

Card is gorgeous!!! I worked in the NICU environment for 25 years as a nurse so I well know what these amazing parents go through. What a wonderful thing to fund raise for!!!

This card is just plain GORGEOUS! I adore how you used the soft colors of the moodboard in the florals…SO perfect!
