Encouragement for Summer Readers

Hello it’s Lisa here again!  I’m stopping by The Ton blog today to share a couple of cards I made to help encourage my 11 year old niece Rylee to read over the summer.   The Ton’s Fireplace line of stamps and dies have so many cute little scene building images to color.  I broke out my Copics for my first card and created a little reading nook.

For this card I used the following supplies from The Ton shop:

Stamps and Coordinating Dies:

Inks:  Caviar, Caribbean Turquoise, Smoky Quartz.

I also used:  Copic Markers

I stamped all the images with The Ton’s Copic friendly Caviar ink.  This ink stamps so crisp and  clean that I also used it on the sentiment.  I popped the Delicate Polka Dots stamped card front up with dimensional tape and also  did the same with some of the little diecut images to create some depth.  Rylee has a yellow lab so this little dog fit perfectly onto her card.

For my next card I used my favorite book themed stamp and die set City Girls Book Life to create a fun card that gets right to the  point  “READ”.

Adding a little dimensional tape to my small images really makes them pop.  I also love that I could use the Bold General Greeting Word Plate Dies to create a custom word for my card front.  I think Rylee will take this message to heart.

Well, that’s all I have for you today.   Thank you so much for stopping by.  Happy Cinco de Mayo!  Have a great weekend!
