Good morning crafty friends!! It’s Brenda, here with you today!! Spring is finally here in the Midwest and I couldn’t be more thrilled!! What do you look forward to the most in the spring? For me, it has to be the flowers, along with the warmer temperatures. The Ton is known for their stunning florals and I chose to use a couple of newer poeny sets for my cards today.
The first one uses the stunning Nesting Peonies set…
I stamped the Nesting Peonies floral image onto Bristol paper with Versamark Ink, then heat embossed with silver embossing powder. I chose a few of my favorite Zig Clean Color Markers and watercolored the image. A little ink from one of the pink Zigs mixed with water was also splattered onto the image once it was dry. The “Thanks” sentiment, from Peony Laurel, was also heat embossed in silver onto a strip of vellum. The Peony Laurel Coordinating Dies were then used to die-cut the letters for the sentiment from silver foil paper. I just love the word dies that are also included in this die set!! I placed the die-cut letters over the embossed letters on the vellum strip. This did three things for me…it gave me a shadow behind the die-cut letters, gave me a place to add some liquid adhesive behind the letters, and also showed me the correct spacing in which to adhere the die-cut letters. I also added a strip of silver foil paper peeking out from behind the watercolored panel, before adhering it to an A2 size pink background panel. A few sequins from the Raspberry Sparkle, Pink Cosmo Twist and Glass Slippers Couture Mixes were added to bring a little more sparkle around the sentiment.
My second card uses Peony Laurel…
This card uses pretty much the same steps, only this time I used gold embossing powder and gold foil paper with some purple hues. I love this Peony Laurel set and can’t wait to color it in different colors…I’m thinking pink and yellow!! My gilding on this card includes sequins from Lilac Blossoms, Violet Sprinkle and Medallion Gold Mix Couture Mixes.
Well, that’s it from me today!! I’ll see you soon…I hope you have a great week!!!
Stunning cards and these peonies shine.
Cheers
Lisa
