Hey there everyone!!! It’s Brenda here with you today. I’m sharing some cards for mom that are good for Mother’s Day or any day of the year!! After all, we don’t need to wait for a special day to let ours moms know how much they mean to us!! However, Mother’s Day is just around the corner!!!
The first one is definitely for Mother’s Day…
I began by stamping the images from Peony Duo with Frosted Vanilla Cupcake Ink. This ink is really light and perfect for no-line coloring!! I colored the images with Copic markers, adding details with colored pencils. I fussy cut the images, the Coordinating Dies are available, but I didn’t have them at the time. Next, I went to work on the background panel. I wanted something light and airy with some texture, to let my florals shine. I used the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large) to cut the white cardstock to an A2 size. The Geometric Circles Coverplate Die was then used to cut the panel, adhering the small pieces back into the panel. The sentiment, also from Peony Duo, was heat embossed in white onto a strip of black cardstock. Some sequins from Pink Bokeh and Pink Diamond Couture Mixes were scattered about, while a touch of Clear Wink of Stella adds a little shimmer to the peonies.
The next cards can be used for Mother’s Day or just to let your mom know how much she means to you any day of the year…
I pulled out the Large Florals: Heritage Rose layering stamps for this set. I love all the layers and folds in this large rose!! Let’s start with the purple one…
For the large rose, I layered Soft Amethyst, Iris Blooms, Grape Crush and Azurite Inks. For the small buds, Beach Blondie and Amber Citrine were used. For the stems and leaves, Soft Garden, Bright Fern & Everglade Moss were my inks of choice. I fussy cut these images also, but the Coordinating Dies are available. Frosted Vanilla Cupcake Ink was used to stamp some horizontal stripes onto white cardstock with the Haute Stripes Cling Background Stamp. The striped panel was cut down with the largest of the Double Stitched Rectangle (Small) Dies. I mixed some black Zig Clean Color Marker with a little water and splattered it onto the panel. Once dry, I figured out placement of my floral elements in the bottom left corner. I stamped the MOM portion of the sentiment, from Peony Laurel, with Caviar Ink directly onto the background panel. You’re Awesome was heat embossed in white onto a strip of black cardstock. The buds and leaves were adhered flat to the background, while the rose was popped up with foam adhesive. I trimmed the excess parts of the flowers from the edges of the panel. The panel was then popped onto some fun foam, for added dimension, before adhering to the A2 card base. A few sequins from the Lilac Blossom Couture Mix completes the card.
The next cards was created in the exact same way, just using different colors…
For this one, Peach Blossom, Coralline, Coral Cavern and Valentine Red Inks were layered for the rose. Blue Diamond and Miami Cool Inks were used for the buds. The leaves were also stamped with the same colors as above: Soft Garden, Bright Fern and Everglade Moss. The stripes were stamped with Blue Diamond. Coral Necklace and Rose Champagne Sparkle were the Couture Mixes that were used.
Thanks for joining me today!! Now, go tell your mom how special she is!!!
