Hello crafty friends, it’s Lisa here! I’m stopping by The Ton blog today to share a coordinating thank you card set that I made using SIX of The Ton’s 6×6 Cling Background stamps. Yep, that’s right, I said SIX! Silly me! I couldn’t make up my mind which of these fabulous stamps to use so I decided to just experiment with all of them and make each card a little bit different.
- Daisy (3/4) Close Up Cling Background
- Haute Stripes Cling Background
- Polka Dot Cling Background
- Minor Stripes Background
- Daisy (Full View) Close Up Cling Background
- Delicate Polka Dots Cling Background
In keeping with a theme for this card set, I decided to stamp each background with The Ton’s Noir black dye ink. This gives all four cards a cohesive look, even though each card is stamped with a different pattern.
I stamped the Daisy backgrounds with Noir ink onto four 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ pieces of Vellum cardstock and then heat embossed with Ranger Superfine Clear embossing powder. I flipped them over and colored with Copic markers, being sure to make each one just a little different. This is such an easy way to color your images on vellum. You don’t have to be so meticulous with shading and you can use the boldest, brightest colors in your collection. Be sure not to color the embossed side of your image though because that can ruin the tips of your Copic markers. When you turn your image back, over the colors will be softer.
I trimmed the flowers out with scissors, following closely along the edge of the clear embossing and then adhered with Ranger Multi-Matte Medium glue directly onto the card. I was careful to only apply my adhesive along the edges and in places where it wouldn’t show through the vellum.
For this card I also heat embossed the “Many Thanks” sentiment from The Ton’s Sunflower Bouquet stamp set. I used Hampton White Pigment ink and Ranger Superfine White embossing powder on black cardstock for a crisp white image.
I stamped in Noir and clear embossed this large “thanks” sentiment from the Peony Notes C stamp set.
This card was just a bit bolder with the thick black Haute Stripes Cling background. I popped up the sentiment on a circle diecut from The Ton’s Bokeh Burst Round coordinating die set. The “Thank You” sentiment is from the Painted Peonies stamp set.
This one is my favorite! I absolutely love the large Polka Dot Cling Background and how the dots are so visible underneath the vellum daisy. Instead of stamping a sentiment I used a diecut “thank you” from the Bold General Greeting Word Plate die set. I cut the “thank you” out twice from black cardstock and glued them together to make the letters stand out even more. I added a little sparkle to all of these cards by adhering some clear sequins from The Ton’s Glass Slippers Mix.
Well that’s all for me today. I hope you enjoyed seeing how all of these wonderful backgrounds worked together to make a four card set. Thanks you so much for stopping by and until next time……..Happy Stamping!

What a great idea to have the background peek through the vellum focal points. I definitely want to give this a try!
