Hello Everyone! This is LauraJane:) Stamping a Buildable Woodgrain background is more fun/rleaxing than I thought it would be. Making it my FAVORITE stamp set in the 3rd Anniversary Release!
The Coordinating Daisy Duet Die set provided a quick mask for my A2 sized White card front. After masking off the area that I wanted to place the Daisy Duet stamp, I chose the Ink colors to use for the woodgrain: Ballet Slippers for the main image, Rose Quartz for the splotches images, and Soft Orchid for the broken line images. Once the woodgrain is built on the card front, I like to sponge more color randomly to deepen the hues.
Moving on to coloring the Daisy Duet stamp after inking it up with Crystal Pewter, I got out the Ziggys for some No-Line Coloring. Keeping the stamp in the MISTI so I could re-stamp as needed after coloring and shading. Sometimes the lines of an image disappear when coloring with the zig markers and Re-stamping is a good thing.Once I was happy with the coloring of the card front I wanted to add the DIE CUT sentiment from BOLD GENERAL GREETINGS. I really like the ease of these new die plates! no need to line up the letters because they are already attached:))
After cutting the birthday from the finished panel, I cut 4 more layers of A2 sized CS in order to POP UP the main panel. Glued them altogether and placed the original cut birthday letters on a card base.
Finished by stamping WISHES in Light Onyx and adding dots in the shadows with an alcohol ink marker.Hope you enjoyed reading how this card came together!
