Hello & Thanks

Happy weekend everyone!! Brenda, here with you today!! It seems I am loving everything pink & purple lately!! Maybe because I’m longing for spring and the lovely flowers that come along with it? I like to think I’m on trend, since the color of the year is Ultraviolet…lol!! Whatever the reason, I am loving it!! I have two cards to share with you today using these two colors…

I like to make a couple of cards using the same supplies with different colors, and sometimes different sentiments, while I have my supplies out. It doesn’t take much more time to switch the inks and make two cards (or even three) instead of one. It’s a good way to bulk up your stash!!

This first card uses shades of pink with the Fresh Cut Daisies layering stamps. I used Rose Quartz & Hollywood Star Dye Inks and Red Sangria Hybrid Ink for the petals; Beach Blondie & Found Topaz Dye Inks for the center of the flowers; and Soft Garden & Bright Fern Dye Inks for the leaves. I cut all the images with the Fresh Cut Daisies Coordinating Dies and set them aside to make the background. I just love the new Delicate Polka Dots Cling Background stamp!! Here, I stamped it in Hollywood Star Dye Ink onto a panel of white cardstock. I trimmed it down slightly and adhered it to a panel of pink cardstock that was the same size as my card base. I decided I wanted the centers of the flowers to be brighter, so I stamped over them with the same green inks I used for the leaves. I played around with placement of the flowers and leaves until I found an arrangement that I liked, then adhered them to each other with liquid adhesive. Once the entire arrangement was glued together, it was easy to pop the whole thing up with dimensional adhesive. For the sentiment, I stamped Hello, from Peony Notes (I just adore the fonts in this set), with Hollywood Star Dye Ink and fussy cut it. I coated it with Versamark Ink; sprinkled with sticky embossing powder; heated; then sprinkled with clear, fine glitter; then heat set again. I gives the cut sentiment lots of shimmer. The “How Are You” is also from Peony Notes and was white heat embossed onto a strip of pink cardstock, then cut into a banner shape. The banner was adhered flat to the card, while the Hello was popped up with foam adhesive. I added a sprinkling of Pink Bokeh Couture Mix around the arrangement, Lastly, a yellow gel pen added some detail to the center of the flower, while clear Wink of Stella added shimmer to the petals.

The purple version uses the same sets, I just switched up the inks and sentiment.

For this one, I used Soft Amethyst, Iris Blooms and Grape Crush Dye Inks for the petals. Iris Blooms was also used for the background and sentiment.  Lilac Blossoms Couture Mix was the finishing touch. Everything else remained the same.
