For today’s project, I used our new Daisy Duet set. This 4×6 set features two daisies for a large stamped impression making it a really great image to practice coloring on.
Be sure to follow us on YouTube for more inspiration! I update our channel on a weekly basis!
I started off by heat embossing the large image onto watercolor paper (Canson XL 140lb) using our Rose Gold Embossing Powder. Then I watercolored the image using Color Burst powders. For the petals, I used a combination of Fuchsia and Merlot. I also added a darker red to add shading to my daisy petals. I combined several hues to obtain the dark red shade but I cannot recall what I mixed… Sorry!!
Here is a WIP photo of daisies. I had worked on a similar piece a few days ago with a different background color.
For the leaves, I use a mixture of Lime Green and Terre Vert Color Bursts. I also added a bit of Gamboge to add a bit of warmth to my background. Once I finished painting my image and background, I cut out a mask on printer paper for my daisies using the coordinating die. I temporarily adhered it to my painted image and splattered on some Fuchsia watercolor to the area surrounding my daisies.
Next, I stamped the sentiment in our Noir Dye Ink and trimmed my panel to 5.5 x 4 inches. I took a top folding horizontal A2 cardbase and adhered Rose Gold Burnished Foil Tape to the top and bottom edges for a gilded look. Then I adhered my painted panel onto the base and lastly adhered our Clear Rhinestones as embellishments.
I hope you all liked my card! Be sure to join us back here tomorrow (and everyday until January 26) to continue celebrating our Third Anniversary!

Ooo, that rose gold embossing powder is delightful, and it works so well with the beautiful fuchsia/merlot flowers that you made! And like the day before, I haven’t seen people working with color bursts much, so it’s really fun to watch you paint and see the amazing results you’re getting!

So beautiful! I love florals, and I especially love these that cover a large part of the card front. You have done a magnificent job. I promise to be back for the video (racing to the deadline finish!)–I want to see everything. I hate doing it in such a rush, but I am keeping a list so I don’t miss anything! Thank you so much for this lovely example and for hosting this hop. And Happy Anniversary if I haven’t said it yet!
