Hello and welcome back! I am back with a one layered Christmas card. For today’s project, I created my own floral background using our Holiday Love Poinsettia.
Be sure to follow us on YouTube for more inspiration! I update our channel on a weekly basis!
I started off by stamping the Holiday Love Poinsettia image twice onto a piece of watercolor paper (Canson XL 140 LB watercolor paper). I positioned the stamp onto my panel while it was nestled into my Mini Misti. I stamped the image once, rotated my panel and then stamped the image again in embossing ink. Then I rose gold heat embossed the two images.
This card was actually a complete mistake! My panel was originally 4.5x6inches when I started this project. After I stamped the poinsettia image twice, they overlapped just a little bit. This is why I decided to create a background pattern. I originally wanted to stamp the two images separately and then die cut them to utilize them differently. Once I saw they overlapped (after I spooned on the embossing powder), I couldn’t die cut one without compromising the other image. So to save my panel, I just went forward and embossed the rest of the panel using the different edges of the Holiday Love Poinsettia stamp to create a background panel. It was a happy accident!
Once the panel was completely embossed, I watercolored the images using my Color Bursts (Rouge, Lime Green, Terre Vert, Cadmium Red, Turquoise) and two fine tip aqua brushes. Once I finished painting, I set the panel aside to dry. Then I die cut the panel using the two largest dies from our Double Stitched Rectangles (Large) to create some texture with the stitching. I taped the border panel and inner negative piece together on the back and then mounted the panel onto a side folding A2 cardbase using our strong double sided adhesive sheets (which I trimmed into several strips).
Next I die cut my sentiment using our Holiday Word dies onto our new Ribbed Glitter Adhesive Paper. Lastly, I embellished my project using our Clear Rhinestones.
Our new Ribbed Glitter Adhesive Paper packs come in two different variety packs (Mixed Pack 1 and Mixed Pack 2). Each pack contains 5 sheets featuring five different hues. These new glitter packs differ from our original Glitter Adhesive Papers in that they have a textured effect to them.
Hope you enjoyed today’s card and video!!
