Happy Thursday everyone!! Brenda here with you today. I am in the middle of trying to get all of my Christmas cards ready to mail, but I needed to take a break from the holiday hustle!! I was missing my beloved pink flowers!! So, I pulled out a couple of sets that haven’t gotten enough love from me yet!! Let’s take a look!!

I started off by creating my background using alcohol inks and Yupo paper. I love the unpredictability of alcohol inks, but it is also difficult to “let go” and try not to control them too much!! I stamped the Magnificent Magnolia (it really IS magnificent, isn’t it?), onto white cardstock with distress ink, as I intended to use the no-line coloring technique. I used Copic markers and added details with colored pencils, before using the Magnificent Magnolia Coordinating Die to cut out the image. The alcohol inked background was cut in two pieces to create some interest in the background. I added Silver Glitter Tape to the top, bottom & cut portions of the card, adhering the alcohol panel over it. The Thank You Word Die was cut from Silver Glitter Paper and pink cardstock. I adhered the dies together, slightly offsetting the words to create a drop shadow, then adhered them to the bottom of the card. The magnolia die was adhered with foam dimensional adhesive. A few sequins from the Pink Diamond Couture Mix finished off the card perfectly!!

Here is the second card…

For this card, I used the same technique on the background panel with Yupo paper and alcohol inks. Once it was dry, I used the largest die from the Double Stitched Rectangle Die (Large) to cut the background. Next, I pulled out my Fresh Cut Carnation Coordinating Dies and cut the flowers from pink cardstock, and the stems from green cardstock. Then I stamped the top two layers of flowers from the Fresh Cut Carnation set with Rose Quartz and Hollywood Star dye inks. I omitted the solid layer of the stamp, eliminating the edge around the outside of the die cut. The leaves were cut with the Fresh Cut Anemone Coordinating Die and stamped with the leaf images from the Fresh Cut Anemone stamp set with Soft Garden Dye Ink. The vase from Tulip Bouquet was heat embossed onto polka-dot vellum, then fussy cut. The sentiment is from Penned Sentiments and was stamped with Noir Ink and clear heat embossed. All the die cuts were adhered as shown, popping the largest flower and leaves up with foam adhesive. The vellum sentiment was wrapped around the background panel, before adhering to the card base. A scattering of sequins from the Waltz White Couture Mix was the finishing touch!! I am always amazed how well the elements from all the sets mix-and-match so well together!!!
