Hi peeps! How’s thing going? Vera here today. Phew… this month been quite a whirlwind for me. Work is pretty crazy as we are short on staff, so I have to do double duty till the new guy come in and my mom is currently visiting me from Indonesia. And, when she’s here I prefer to spend my free time with her since I don’t get to see her that often. I love being with my mom.
Oh yes, on top of that, I am also hosting my annual Caring Hearts Card Drive. We are back for our 8th year of collecting Christmas/holiday cards for the elderly that lives in nursing homes (you can find all the details HERE if you’d like to participate) and The Ton is one of the generous sponsor of the card drive. Thank you, The Ton!
Talking about holiday cards, for today I am creating 2 Christmas cards.
First up is this beauty.
I used Poinsettia Close Up Background set to make this card. And, yes, I just had to try out unusual color instead of the usual red. 😉 I simply stamped the image and then coloring it with Copic markers. At first, I was a bit worried of the way it would turned out. But, after playing and adding some colors, I am pretty happy with the way it turned out.
Once I finished coloring I stamped the sentiment from Mistletoe Kisses set and added some Glass Slipper Sequins. I really like the font combination on this sentiment and it looks elegant mix with the poinsettia. So, what do you think of purple poinsettia? Why not, right?
Up next, I switch gear to another favorite color of mine.
For this one, I stamped the card base with Poinsettia Garden Cling Background in soft color. Then I stamped the pretty poinsettia from Holiday Love Poinsettia and die cut it using the coordinating Holiday Love Poinsettia dies. Color it with Copic and then adhere it to the card base with pop-dots. The sentiment come from the same set. Finished by adding some Glass Slipper Sequins.
I hope you enjoy these 2 beauties. They might not be your traditional Christmas colors, but I hope you like them the same.
Well peeps, that’s all from me today. Hope you have a beautiful day and enjoy your Friday. Cheers….
Both cards are amazing and I love the unusual colors. Can you share what Copic markers you used? Enjoy your mom and don’t work so hard. Life is short
