For this hop, we’re creating BALLOON themed cards to celebrate!

Week 259 - Balloon

Today, I made two cards using this fun cue card!

anemone garden balloons

For my first card, I used our Anemone Garden background stamp (the heart balloons are from our City Girls: Special Day set).

I started by Rose Gold heat embossing the Anemone Garden stamp on watercolor paper. Then I painted each anemone using Peony, Lemon Yellow and Tangerine Color Bursts. The leaves were painted using a combination of Sap Green and Terre Vert Color Bursts.

Once I finished painting I set the panel aside to dry and stamped my heart shaped balloons using Beach Blondie, Peach Blossom and Hollywood Star dye inks to match my floral color palette. After I finished stamping the balloons, I used the coordinating die to cut each balloon out. I also cut out six additional balloons from vellum paper.

Next I rose gold heat embossed the banner from our Basic Banners set and then die cut it using the coordinating die. Then I taped on some metallic thread to each cardstock balloon. Next I proceeded to pop up each cardstock balloon. I then tucked the vellum balloons among the cardstock balloons using liquid adhesive making sure that those areas where the liquid adhesive was applied were the areas tucked away under the other balloons. Next I taped down the thread onto the watercolored panel. Then I popped up my sentiment banner.

For my top folding A2 horizontal cardbase, I applied a strip of Burnished Rose Gold Foil Tape to the top edge. I adhered my watercolor balloon panel to my base and then finished off this card by adhering our Clear Dew Drops in 7mm and 5mm sizes.

park life balloons

For my next card. I created a simply color scene card using our City Girls: Park Life and Fountain Terrace Scene stamp.

I started off by stamping each scene element from our Park Life set on cardstock using our copic friendly Caviar Hybrid ink. Then I colored each element using copic markers. Once I finished coloring, I die cut everything using coordinating dies.

Next I stamped the fountain scene onto cardstock using our light Crystal Pewter Dye Ink. I added stitching to the edges of our scene panel using the largest die in our Double Stitched Rectangles (large) set. I then popped up my Park Life elements onto the scene panel with foam tape. Lastly, I added our Clear Dew Drops in 7 and 5mm sizes.

I hope you enjoyed today’s post and videos! Continue to hop for a chance to win some great prizes! Your next stop is Sherrie Mannion.

Both cards show your creative side……the balloons are so pretty against the flowers on the first card and the black and white left on the second card is something I would never think to do but looks great. Thank you for sharing your inspiration and great ideas.

Wow, the gold embossing and colors are stunning on your first card and fabulous idea to keep a portion of the background black and white on your second. Thanks so much for your support of CASology.

I love, love, love, love your cards! The first card is so unique. It’s defiantly something I never would have thought to do. I was wondering about the balloons and I realized those heart shaped things were balloons! How cool! You guys on blog hops are so creative! I totally have to think out of the box like you did. Those clear dew drops add just the right touch to a beautiful card. It also used a ton of my favorite color, yellow, and that makes me smile.
I love how that fountain and the background look so real. What a great stamp! That card is almost as colorful as the other one. It’s not as colorful as the first one but it is colorful. I love how it looks like a postcard, you know it looks like someone is on vacation. My niece loves pink so she would love the second card.
Thanks for showing us your cards and for giving us the chance to win something. I am having so much fun on this blog hop!
