For the first card, I began by stamping the mermaid & the shell from the Mermaid Vibes stamp set with Caviar Ink, then colored with Copic markers, before fussy cutting. I blended distress inks onto the background panel and a piece of torn cardstock. I used Hampton White Pigment Ink and a piece of acetate to create sunrays through the background. Other images from the set were stamped onto the background with Ocean Teal Dye Ink. The “sand” piece was adhered onto the “water” background, then die-cut with the Double Stitched Rectangle Dies (Large). Next, the sentiment was stamped onto the panel, then the center panel was adhered onto fun foam and popped into the frame. A Wink of Stella clear sparkle pen, white gel pen & Morning Dew Crystal Nuvo Drops were used to add in some details and shine. The shell and mermaid were then adhered with fun foam for added dimension. Lastly, a sprinkling of Glass Slippers Round Confetti completed the card.
For my next card, I used the Mermaid Vibes set in a non-mermaid way…
I started by blending some clouds onto a background with distress ink and a homemade cloud stencil. The Wave was stamped with Cali Blue, Parisian Blue & Deep Sapphire inks before die-cutting with the Coordinating Die…I also die-cut the wave from blue fun foam. Stickles were used for the foam on the wave. Next, the Palm Tree images were stamped with Soft Garden, Bright Fern, Deep Emerald, Found Topaz & Aspen Cocoa Inks, before using the Coordinating Dies to cut them, as well as a piece of fun foam. The Mermaid from Mermaid Vibes was stamped with Caviar Hybrid Ink and then colored with Copic markers, before fussy cutting the image, cutting the mermaid’s tail off to make a hula dancer. I used some craft colored crepe paper streamers & some twine to create a skirt. A piece of cardstock was torn & blended with distress inks to create a beach. The sentiment is from the Palm Trees set & was double stamped with Cali Blue & Noir Inks. The birds were also stamped with Noir Ink onto the cloud background. All the components were then arranged and adhered onto the background panel. A white gel pen was used to add some final details.
