Happy Saturday, everyone and welcome back to our blog! For today, I have a pretty watercolored card to share with you created with our Anemone Wishes set.

I started off by rose gold heat embossing the beautiful cluster image from our Anemone Wishes onto watercolor paper. Then I painted the image with Color Burst powders. For the blooms, I used Orchid. For the leaves, I painted a faint first layer with Sap Green and then added shading with Terre Vert. I also added more shading to the leaves with Prussian Blue Color Bursts. To paint my image, I used two fine tip waterbrushes.  I use one brush to apply a little bit of color – the color bursts are extremely vibrant and you don’t need a lot. As my friend Laurel says, these are powders with power! A little bit goes a very long way with these powders.

After I apply a little bit of color onto the area I want to paint, I use a clean fine tip water brush that is slightly wet to blend the color out. You want to make sure that your clean brush is just wet enough but not dripping wet otherwise you will end up diluting your color too much. If this does happen to you, just dab the excess water and start again by applying more color and then blend it out. Watercolor is so forgiving and this is probably one of the reasons that it’s one of my favorite mediums.

Once I finished watercoloring my cluster, I set it aside to dry. Once dried, I die cut the cluster using the coordinating die.  Then I painted the negative piece using turquoise Color Bursts. After I was satisfied with the amount of color, I let it dry. Then I splattered clean water onto the turquoise panel. I let the water drops soak into the panel for about 20-30 seconds. Then I dabbed at the remaining drops to lift color off the watercolored areas. I did this twice to add some one layered texture onto my panel. Next I added violet splatters using some purple watercolor paint. I did not dab away the purple paint. After this panel dried, I adhered it onto a top folding heavy cardbase using our double sided adhesive sheets which I cut into strips.  Next I stamped the sentiment in our Noir Dye Ink.

Lastly, I popped up my cluster into the negative space with foam tape and added clear dew drops.
