Hello! It’s Marika here. Thank you for your kind comments left on the other two of other guest posts. You can find them HERE and HERE. I also want thank Effie for inviting me, it’s really been a blast and I’m looking forward other fun projects that we can do together.
A few words on this third card here. As you have noticed, I’m a colorist and I usually love to make the coloured image to be my focal point on my cards. As doing so, my cards are usually quite simple. What I love to do, I love to play with different coloring mediums and styles. In this card I used graphical look.
I was in a need of a masculine card for my dear colleague so I used monochromatic and played with different tones of greys in my work. I used Fresh Cut Tulips stamp set and stamped the tulips with two light inks to get the shape. Then I took out my colored pencils and added details using them. And by the way, if you are a bit scared on coloring, please, don’t be but if you still feel intimidated on shading different images, these layering stamp sets are wonderful way to improve your colouring and shading skills. The sentiment is from the set called It’s cray cray.
Here are the list of colours I used:
Faber Castell Polychromo Pencils: Warm Grey (272), Warm Grey (274), Warm Grey (275), Black (199).
Copics: N7 (for the black strip of card stock on the back)
Thank you so much. Have a great day!
Marika
