Video: Love and Hugs Watercolor Peony

lg peony trio

Hello everyone, Effie here! Today I have a video on how I watercolored our Large Peony 2 with colorburst powders.

I started off by rose gold heat embossing our Large Peony 2 and leaves on watercolor paper. Then I watercolored the images using my Marigold Colorburst. After the paint dried, I die cut the images with their coordinating dies. Next I rose gold heat embossed the sentiment from our Brushed Love set and die cut the sentiment with the coordinating die. The Sending and Hugs portion of the sentiment is from the same set and I white heat embossed them onto gray cardstock. Then I fussy cut them into “labels”.

Next I blended some Caribbean Turquoise and Miami Cool Dye Inks onto a card panel using a stencil brush. Then I trimmed the panel on each side (except the top) and popped it up onto a side folding A2 cardbase.  Then I popped up my peony, leaves and sentiment with foam tape. Lastly, I embellished my card using our 7 and 5mm Clear Dew Drops.

I made additional variations of this card using our other Large Peony and Brushed sentiment sets.

For this card, I used our Large Peony 1 and Brushed You sets. I colored in the peony using my Wisteria Colorbursts.

peony 3

For this card, I used our Large Peony 3 and Brushed Hugs set. I colored this peony in using my Peony Colorbursts.

The leaves for all three cards were colored using a combination of Terre Vert, Sap Green, Yellow Ochre and Prussian Blue Colorbursts.

That’s all for today! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed today’s cards and video!
