Good morning! Emily here with you today for a quick project with lots of white space and pops of bright color. We recently moved, and while the house to which we moved has beautiful landscaping, I find myself missing my the peonies that were outside our dining room window. They are starting to come up now, and we had some beautiful deep pink peonies to enjoy every year (and the best part was they require absolutely no gardening knowledge, which is a perfect plant for this black-thumbed indoor-girl!). I don’t name my cards, but if I were, I would call this one “Peonies Outside My Window” in honor of those lovely, low-maintenance blooms!
To start, I had a portion of silver-embossed Peony Crush background lying on my desk left over from the release last week. After discovering that it was the perfect size to go behind the new rectangle die from the Modern Labels die set, I simply finished coloring it with my Zig markers (which are now available in The Boutique! One stop shopping!). Next, I die cut the rectangle from Modern Labels coordinating die set (I absolutely love how Effie included a beautiful stitched edge on the exterior of each of the dies. Those little extra details are so wonderfully thought out.) from an A2 panel of white card stock.
After adhering my peony panel to my window, I thought it looked a little plain, so I stamped the peony from Dearest Peony using the same silver embossing powder (love that the peonies in this new release all coordinate!) and colored it again with the same Zig markers, fussy cutting it right down to the embossing and rearranging the leaves a bit to suit the shape of my card better. After I had adhered the peony to my card front, I stamped the greeting from Modern Labels onto some strips of white card stock using Caviar ink. The final touch was to add a smattering of Glass Slippers sequins to the card front.
Well that’s all for me today! A reminder: don’t forget to get your project linked up to The Ton’s challenge blog. The theme for April is Anything Goes, so just use whatever stamps and/or dies from The Ton you want to create a project, link it up, and you could win a $50 shopping spree to The Ton!
Have a marvelous day, friends, and a wonderfully happy Easter!
