I have two cards to share with you today using the Poinsettia Garden Cling Background.
One is inked directly to the white CS and the other Embossed with White EP then colored with Distress Inks and Ziggys. I’m continually amazed with the versatility of this stamp background!
To You From Us card:
- I cut strips of copy paper to create 4 masks and placed them at a diagonal on white CS. Taped them down around the edges to hold in place.
- Placing the stamp Poinsettia Garden Cling Background in my MISTI, I inked first with Basil Mojito Dye and then a second time with Soft Garden Dye
- Removed the thin masks and inked with Twisted Citron in the white spaces by re-masking with thick tape over the stamped areas first.
- Added Glitter Tape – Gold (thin) down the middle of each stripe
- Trimmed with largest Double Stitched Rectangle Dies
- Stamped and fussy cut the Holiday Bows: inked with Everglade Moss Dye and Soft Garden Dye then colored with Y11 Copic marker.
- Holiday Cones Berries and branches embossed with WOW! and cut using Holiday Cones Coordinating Dies, berries colored with Y11 Copic marker
- Sentiment tags from Bokeh Burst – Round stamped in Everglade Moss Dye
- Added gold twine for thread nest and tag strings:)
Merry Christmas card:
- Repeated the first steps from the first card …used the 4 masks and placed them at a diagonal on white CS. Taped them down around the edges to hold in place.
- Placing the stamp Poinsettia Garden Cling Background in my MISTI: inked with Versamark, then embossed with WOW white EP.
- Removed the diagonal masks
- inked over the embossed areas with Twisted Citron being careful to allow a bit of feathering into the white space of the diagonal stripes.
- Added shadowing details with Ziggys..Blue Haze, and Blush
- Trimmed with largest Double Stitched Rectangle Dies
- Cut Merry Christmas from Colored CS and adhered to finished panel
- Embellished with Mint Frosting Couture Mix
I think with this type of masking, the Poinsettia Garden Cling Background might be used throughout the year for all occasion cards.
