I’m back with another holiday card using our Holiday Flourish stamp set!
I started off by prearranging my flourishes on my acrylic block (these flourishes look great when clustered together). Next I gold glitter heat embossed the stamps on two corners on an A2 card panel. I set the panel aside and got to working on my holly leaves. The Holiday Flourishes comes with an outline and solid version of the leaves and berries. For this card, I used the outline leaves. After I heat embossed the leaves, I watercolored them using a No 48 Emerald Green and No 40 Green Zig marker. For the berries, I heat embossed the solid version with Red Tinsel embossing powder.
For the sentiment, I heat embossed the banner and stamped the sentiment in our Noir Dye Ink. Then I die cut the banner using the coordinating dies. The tiny sentiment from our Christmas Poinsettia set fits perfectly in the banner! Once I finished my coloring, I die cut the leaves and holly using the coordinating dies.
Next I blended some Caribbean Turquoise dye ink onto two corners of my heat embossed panel. Then I flicked on white and gold splatters onto the minty corners using our Hampton White pigment ink and my Finetec metallic watercolors. You can also use the Zig Starry Night palette which is very similar to the Finetec paints. If you don’t have either, Perfect Pearls work for this technique as well. I also added stitching to the edges of my panel using the largest die in our Double Stitched Rectangle dies.
Next I assembled my holly leaves and berries and adhered them onto the flourishes which created a gorgeous backdrop for the leaf clusters. Then I popped up the sentiment banner with a double layer of foam tape. Lastly, I finished the card by adhering our Dew Drops in a similar pattern to the flourishes.
I love how the card turned out! Before this card, I don’t think I ever gold heat embossed the flourishes (which is crazy because I heat emboss everything). I’ll be using the flourishes in this set all year round! That’s all for today, folks! Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!
