Merry Christmas, friends! (Don’t shoot me; it’s November, and I can say that!) Emily here with you today with a card that’s a little different from my normal style. I did not get to use the gorgeous Poinsettia Border stamp as much as I would have liked during the release, so I am making up for that now by playing with it to my heart’s content. 🙂 Let’s get started!
This project is a little different for me. I started by heat embossing that stunningly detailed image onto a bright red card base using white detail embossing powder. I then used my white Prismacolor colored pencil (is it really a colored pencil if it’s white? Hmm.) to add in some shading on the poinsettias. I used a white Wink of Stella brush pen to add some shimmer and variation to the berries.
The next step was to stamp and emboss some of the pretty poinsettias and foliage from the Fresh Cut Poinsettia Outlines stamp set onto vellum using the same white detail embossing powder, then die cut them with their coordinating dies. I added some more shimmer with the white Wink of Stella pen, but it’s not really captured very well in the photos. Sadface.
The next step was to cut the greeting using the new Holiday Word Dies. I started with some of the green adhesive foil, then die cut the greeting three more times using (cheap but sturdy) watercolor paper and glued them all together. I adhered the greeting down, then arranged my vellum poinsettia die cuts and adhered them with clear dimensional adhesive. The final step was to add some sequins: Deep Sage, Glass Slippers, and Engine Red.
And that’s it! This card would be really easy to mass produce if you left off the extra vellum die cuts and only did one layer of die cut greeting… Bonus, it’s nice and flat, too! I’m all about just dropping my cards in the mailbox instead of having to actually get out and go inside the post office… ain’t nobody got time for that! I’m too busy making Christmas cards haha! Have a fantastic week, friends!
This card is amazingly beautiful!
