So let’s get started!

My card for the hop was inspired by my current obsession with the show: The Bachelorette 🙂  I only got into the show this season (that JoJo is just fabulous) but now I’m hooked!  When I first started designing this set it wasn’t initially inspired by The Bachelorette.  Instead, I wanted to create a followup to our Haute Wedding Dress set.  I knew I wanted a mermaid style gown (something different from the princess pouffy dress as our Haute Wedding gal).  I also knew I wanted “add-on” elements that would allow you to customize the dress.  Once I settled on this form and stance, I had to include a rose so that she’d be able to hold one over her fawning Plus One dates who are just vying for her attention.

That is basically the inspiration for my card today! I started off by gold heat embossing our Grand Stairway scene stamp.  I set that panel aside and started on my people!  First, I stamped our lady, her dates accessories and cocktails in our Caviar Hybrid ink (which is Copic friendly).  Then I colored everything in with Copic markers.  After the coloring was finished, I die cut each piece using the coordinating dies (Born Classy dies, Plus One dies).

Next I cut out the shape of our lady’s dress using our Glossy Fine Gold Adhesive Paper and adhered it over her current dress.  Then I heat embossed the feather skirt from the same set on some heavyweight vellum. I used a white sparkle embossing powder to give the skirt a more feather like appearance (did it work? – let me know if you think so or not!!). Next I adhered the skirt right onto the dress. I adhered the drinks and rose to our respective characters.  Next I cut a slit into the strap of the bag and hooked it into our lady’s arm. I used a small piece of micropore tape to close the slit – you can hardly notice it!

Next, I adhered the heat embossed stairway panel onto a side folding A2 card base.  Then I popped up our characters onto the scene. I heat embossed the sentiment from the same Born Classy set onto black cardstock.  I fussy cut the sentiment and popped it up over my trio.

I hope you like my card for today!

Thank you all for stopping by today! Be sure to leave a comment here to qualify for the giveaways. Then start hopping and leave some comments on our wonderful team and guest blogs for chances to win our gift codes! Your next stop is Amy!

I love the whole release. All the poinsettia stamps are gorgeous and look so great colored with the zigs. I love the oversized sentiments which everyone used so creatively. And, the pine branches in the greenery set is a favorite of mine. Today’s card is a show stopper. You make great stamps and great cards!!!
