Addicted to Coloring ?

Hello and welcome to The Ton blog today!

It’s TaeEun hosting the first Post as the newest DT member! I can’t say how much excited I am to be here with you!!! I’m looking forward to having fun and inspiring crafty experience with all of you and amazingly talented The Ton DT members!

For whom doesn’t know about me and my card making style, I decided to show my love to color (mainly pretty floral images :)) in my first post.

I’ve chosen Nr.3 of the Large Peony collection as the main image and used a leaf from the Large Peony 1 to create my composition. I colored the image using 3 different coloring media. The Large Peony Collection with big and bold flower images is great to color with any coloring medium.

Let’s get started with the first card colored using Alcohol inks.

To start off I stamped the image with an embossing ink on a glossy cardstock and heat embossed it using our Rose Gold Embossing Powder. This gorgeous embossing powder gives lovely light peach shade and I chose the color scheme for my flower consistant to it. The coloring of a heat embossed image using alcohol inks is possible, as the raised outlines keep the ink inside of the image. After dripping the ink onto the image, I carefully tilted the paper to move the ink to the desired direction. I used Sunshineyellow, Lemonade, Pink Sherbet and Shell Pink for the flower, Citrus and Botanical for the leaves.

For the background I stamped the Haute Stripes Stamp using Rose Quartz Dye ink on my card base. After stamping the sentiment from the Thanks a Bunch set in Noir Dye ink, I foam mounted the fussy cut flower image on the lower right corner.  My choice to embellish this card was  Cinderella’s Ride Couture Mix and of course I Dream in Peach Couture Mix.

The second card for today has the same layout like the first one, but this time I’ve water colored the flower using Glitter brush pens.

The peony was heat embossed in Rose Gold and the leaves in green. I wanted some yellow shade in the flower, so I used yellow Glitter brush pen beside Solar red and Pink Champagne to color it. For the Haute Stripes I used this time Lemon Drop Dye ink.  The red and yellow sequins I added are from the Flamenco Sunset Couture Mix. And this card features also one of the must-have-sequins: Glass Slippers.

Here is the close-up! I wish I could have caught the shimmer in the picture.

The last card I have for today shows the same image colored with Prismacolor pencils on kraft. Blue pencils on a kraft cardstock is one of my favorite combinations.

TheTon0901 blue WM

For this one layer card I stamped the peony in our Azurits Dye ink and the leaves in Soft Garden Dye ink. I then colored the flower petal by petal in blue shades with some purple accents. After I’ve finished coloring, I added beige border to pop up the image. The sentiment ‘grateful’ in Grape Crush Dye ink and ‘for you’ in Hampton White Pigment ink are from the Thanks a Bunch stamp set. To finish off I scattered some sequins from Midnight Frost Couture Mix and Glass Slippers sequins.

These cards are all so beautiful TaeEun and I love the way the different colour accents in the flowers coordinate with the colours in the striped backgrounds. The blue of the third flower is stunning with the kraft card and the complementary blue gems. I have to admit that I had never heard of The Ton but these stamps are wonderful. Sorry I left my main comment on your blog TaeEun but had to come back and leave one here too. x
