Coloring on Kraft

Hello and Happy Friday to ya! It’s LauraJane sharing a card I have been coloring along for the #thedailymarker30day challenge with Kathy Rac. There has been so much amazing coloring going on in the galleries:)) I’m sad to see the challenge come to an end.

The this card I chose the Happiest of Peonies set…. plus the lone bloom from Sending Peonies, because I kind of missed the edge of my Neenah Desert Storm Kraft CS and needed another bloom to balance it out. Ha! (Never fear, one can always create a mask and add more flowers right??)

I used the Couture Color – Hampton White Pigment on Kraft for the stamped images.and set the heat tool on it for a few minutes. Then grabbed the Spectrum Noir Aqua markers for a change from the Ziggys. I LOVED how these markers blended on the paper!

This was all that I colored the first night.

The next morning I added more colors, being careful to leave just a bit of uncolored areas in each petal for a highlight.

The last morning I realized I had forgotten to color the middle of each bloom. So I added deeper shades as you can see below . Then I went a bit DOT crazy for the background.

To finish the card I trimmed it down with the  Double Stitched Rectangle Dies, matted it with some Dark green CS and mounted it on a piece of CS stamped with Minor Stripes Cling Background in Smoky Quartz Dye.

The sentiment is from Sending Peonies inked in Everglade Moss.

This one just makes me HAPPY DANCE:)) Some cards just do that for me:)

Hope it inspires you to create something that makes you HAPPY too!
