First I started off by stamping and masking the open bloom from our Loose Peonies set along the bottom right corner of my 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card panel. I stamped them in our copic friendly Caviar Hybrid Ink. After I stamped the blooms, I stamped the leaves from the same set.
Next I colored the petals with YR82 Mellow Peach, E95 Flesh Pink and YR02 Light Orange. The stamens were colored with Y21 Buttercup Yellow and Y38 Honey. The leaves were colored with G03 Meadow Green, G07 Nile Green and G19 Bright Parrot Green. The floral outline was colored using BG10 Cool Shadow and B000 Pale Porcelain Blue.
After the coloring, I stamped our seven step Hello Hummingbird using our Cocoa Collection Couture Color Inks. The green feathers were stamped with Soft Garden Dye Ink and Deep Emerald Dye Ink. The ruby throat was stamped with Soft Garnet Dye Ink and Valentine Red Dye Ink. Next, I stamped the sentiment (from our Happiest of Peonies) in our Noir Dye Ink.
Next, I applied some silver glitter tape and silver burnished foil tape at the base of my A2 top folding card base to create a two tone silver base that would show from under my colored and stamped panel. Then I trimmed my colored panel a 1/4 inch at the top and adhered it to my card base. I finished the card by adding some Key Lime sequins in 10,8,6 and 5mm sizes.
**The water droplets in the first photo above were created using Morning Dew Nuvo Drops.
I had a lot of fun copic coloring this card for today. I don’t use this medium often but I thought I would challenge myself to step out of my zig marker comfort zone to use other coloring mediums in my stash.
Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!!
