Challenges.

Hi there! Emily here today with something fairly unusual on The Ton’s blog: a baby card! I’ve been challenging myself to use stamps that have been unloved in my collection for the daily coloring challenge over on Instagram and SOMEHOW, these darling little foxes from Hey Foxy have been neglected!! Now, it’s pretty obvious that floral and elegant are my modus operandi. I don’t do a whole lot of “cute.” However! Baby cards demand cute. And cute demands critters. Enter Foxy!!

To start: I heat embossed a white panel of card stock with the Geometric Lattice background stamp using white embossing powder, then used my stencil brushes and Lofty Mint ink to create a mint ombre effect. Then I started the really fun part: watercoloring the foxes and cherry blossoms (from Wild Cherry Blossoms). I wanted a very soft effect on both the blooms and the cutie little fox, so instead of my usual Zig markers, I pulled out my Distress Inks. I use the Distress inks when I want color that is very translucent and subtle. I simply tap some color from an ink pad to a clear stamp block, then use my wet paintbrush as I normally would. The result is very soft, subtle, beautiful color. I used Worn Lipstick and Cracked Pistachio for the blossoms and foliage, Spiced Marmalade and Pumice Stone for foxy.  I fussy cut everything out and then turned my attention to the shaker.

To create my little wreath/frame, I die cut two concentric circles from the Double Stitched Circle dies using some iridescent white card stock, vellum, and foam tape. I chose vellum to further the softness on this delicate baby card. The shaker was filled with various sequins, including Rose GoldDusty Pink MattePastel PinkMint Flora, and Mint Pearl seed beads. I added some Pastel Pink and Wedding Dress sequins in a few spots along the outside of the floral spray. The last step was to mount the whole thing on a blush colored card base.

Hey Foxy has certainly become a new favorite… I’m going to have to try to overcome my inability to do “cute” and put this sweet little set to use more often! Thanks for dropping by!! 🙂

Red roses are popular needless to say, nevertheless the calla lily is quite beautiful and will come in shades that fit in with all the color schemes selected when scouting for fall wedding flowers.
The same goes for your bride and groom who’re
getting able to explore a new life together. They also appear in many colors, from
bridal white to vibrants reds and yellows, all of the way
to deep purples and black, which means they’re able to coordinate well with
    any wedding theme.
