So for today, I made two cards to celebrate our Summer 2016 Release.

hop stacks

First up is my faux watercolored art print card created with our new Haute Stacks.  This set might be my favorite of this entire release!  I achieved the watercolor look by first inking up my stamp with the distress ink, spritzed some water and stamped on my watercolor panel.  Then I took a water brush and proceeded to blend the color.  I did this for each layer and for the stack of books.  For my peonies, I used Spun Sugar for my first layer, Abandoned Coral for the second and Fired Brick for the third layer.

After I finished stamping my stack of books with a gray distress ink, I added some additional shading to some of the books with black watercolor paint.  This gave the card the more artsy feel that I was aiming for.  Next I die cut my panel using the largest die in our Double Stitched Rectangle dies.  I finished the card by adhering some Glass Slippers sequins.

For my next card, I created a shaker using our new Vogue Skies set and our Pyrotechnics set.

I started off by blending my card panel with our Cali Blue Dye Ink, Azurite Dye Ink and Soft Amethyst Dye ink.  Then I heat embossed the fireworks display with our Rose Gold embossing powder and a silver glitter embossing powder.

I then stamped the Statue of Liberty and sentiment from our Vogue Skies over my skyline.  Next I created a black border frame using the two largest dies from our Double Stitched Rectangle dies.  This would serve as my shaker window.  After I adhered the acetate under the frame, I filled up the window with our new Black Tie Affair Couture Mix. The card was complete after I closed up the window.

We also have some giveaways to celebrate our hop: Four $25 gift certificates will be given away to random commenters.  You must comment on each hop participant blog to qualify for the giveaway. The comment period will close on Saturday, June 18 at 11:59pm. Winners will be announced thereafter.

Thanks for checking out our hop post for today!  Your next stop is Vera.  Be sure to check out all of the other stops on the blog for some amazing inspiration for our Summer 2016 Release!

I just adore the water colored affect of that first one! And I think the books are my favorite too. This release is RVEN better than the last, and I didn’t think that was possible!
So Effie , im on vaca at the beach and saw a stack of books at a home/design store – 3 books, and they had used quotes from your stamp set (can’t remember the name of the set) on the spines of the 3 books. I’m going to copy it because it ws so great. So, first book “a girl should be”, second book “two things”, third book “classy and fabulous”. 😉 I know you are, Effie!

Gorgeous cards! Shakers are my favorite and yours is very pretty. But I really LOVE those books. There is just something about them that’s very special. Love how you colored them on this awesome card.

First off the summer release is to dye for!! Lol I just adore how TON does the true meaning of layered stamps. Wow! Both cards are so different and so beautiful. Love the artsy watercolor and softness of the first card. Very French Vintage, I think. Then the shaker is such a artistic explosion! The rose gold embossing powder is a gorgeous detail!!

Wow, just stunning! What a great release, everything’s gorgeous. All the ladies did an amazing job showing everything off. Your haute stacks card is shabby beautiful, it’s my favorite from the release. I feel like I’m a young teenager standing down by the skyline on the Jersey side watching fireworks, great card.
