Hello dear friends! It’s Keeway here! Are you all loving the Spring release? Pretty amazing right? Effie really knocked it out of the park. Her floral designs are always spectacular, and today I wanted to share a card that really let it shine in its purest form, in simple black and white outlines.
I didn’t want to make just any card, but a thank you card. A thank you to the design team and Effie for treasured memories, fun, and support for the past 6 months. This will be my last card as a design team member with The Ton.
When I think couture, I love using the combination of a strong pink and black. I started adding watercolor pink streaks across the center of the card. I wanted horizontal brush strokes to stand out, so to make sure it did not get washed and blended, I dried the paint with a heat gun in between every few strokes.
These peonies from the Sending Peonies set are beautifully detailed and work gorgeously alone in black and white. I stamped these peonies in clusters, by masking and selectively inking the large cluster in the Caviar Hybrid Ink. I then colored in some of the leaves with grey ink, and then added some splatter dots with black watercolor.
For the sentiment, I stamped “just saying” from the Basic Sentiments set and wanted to create large letters for “thanks” by heat embossing each letter from the Vogue Alpha Lower set on black card stock, and individually cutting them out in rectangles. I wanted to create the impression that the they were pieced together, like cutting out letters from a magazine and gluing them together. I then adhered the letters in whimsical fashion with foam tape to finish off the card. Simple and chiq!
This card is my thank you. Thank you Effie. Thank you Jess, Ruby, Vera, Emily, Eunji, and Mayline! I will cherish my days with all of you and look forward to continuing to see your talents flourish. Thank you, and good bye!
