Soft Watercolor Peonies

Good morning! It’s Keeway dropping into today to share some soft watercoloring with the Large Peony 1 stamp set. I was browsing around Youtube the other day and happened upon one of Kristina Werner’s video from a few weeks back on soft watercoloring, and was so inspired that I knew I just had to give it a try myself! The Large Peony stamp collections (1, 2, and 3) all lend itself to some really great watercoloring, and I absolutely love the results!

I first painted a soft background on a piece of A2 watercolor paper, let it dry, and then heat embossed the large peony  and some leaves onto my watercolored piece. After that was heat set, I began watercoloring my large flower loosely, while adding some gradients to bring the flower to life. I did the same thing for the leaves.

After that was all set and dry, I then went back and heat embossed the sentiment thank you from the Thanks a Bunch stamp set in gold. I then sized down my watercolored piece just slightly smaller than the A2 card base. To add a little more interest to the card, I also created a gold glitter border to match the gold sentiment, by using the thin Gold Glitter Tape. I love this tape because I don’t get glitter all of the place when I just want to add little sparkle!

And there you have a beautiful, elegant soft watercolor thank you card! I just love how it all turned out, don’t you? Hope this added a little inspiration to your week!

Cheers,
