Celebrating with Jess

Hello and welcome to our second post for the day today! We’re celebrating Jessica’s amazing 2k Instagram follower milestone!  We are hopping along on Instagram but a few of us have prepared coordinating blog posts (because that’s just what we do 🙂 ).

I am honored to be a part of this hop and also to be considered one of Jessica’s.  Jessica joined my team about a year ago and since then the rest is history.  Her talent, kindness and thoughtfulness are endless and know no bounds.  So in celebration of her 2k Instagram follower achievement, I made the this card as a tribute to her.  Cheers to Jess and to 2k more!

brady bears

For this card, I used our Honey Bears stamp set and created a Brady Bunch themed card.  I started off by sectioning an A2 sized white cardstock.  I measured one and three eighths of an inch across the top of the card for three even columns.  Then I measured one and three quarters of an inch along the long side of the card panel.  I drew in all the lines with a pencil to create 9 even boxes.  Then I stamped all the bears within the boxes with our Caviar ink which is copic friendly.  I stamped all the different expressions for all of the bears except the one in the middle (love his little smile).  So this card involved a ton of masking but it was well worth the effort.

The beauty of these interchangeable expressions is that you can stamp anywhere on the bear’s face and you don’t get a picasso effect (lol).  So you can have the bear looking up, down sideways, etc, etc.  Mayline is a bit of a genius for coming up with this design.

After I stamped all of the bears, expressions and accessories, I proceeded to color my panel.  For the bears, I used the following copics: E25, E23, E13 and E00. For the blue background, I usedB26, B16, B05, BG02 and B000.  Once I finished coloring, I went over the borders with a black gel pen.  Then I white heat embossed the Hello sentiment (from our Hey Foxy set) on black cardstock and silver glitter heat embossed the Friend (from our Friend Defined set) on vellum.  I fussy cut the Friend and adhered it onto black cardstock and then fussy cut that part out as well.  Then I popped up the sentiments onto the panel.  Before adhering the stamped panel onto my side folding cardbase, I adhered two strips of silver glitter tape onto the top and bottom of the cardbase.

Oh my gosh, it does look like the Brady bunch! There’s Marsha, Marsha, Marsha! LOL Those are such cute bears! Bears in the wild aren’t cute and I sure wouldn’t want to meet one up close and personal but these guys are cute and I wouldn’t have to worry about meeting them up close and personal. You did a really nice job! I love the Brady Bears & the Brady Bunch! LOL

I love this card and immediately thought of the Brady Bunch when I saw it! Love the different expressions on each of the bears and how they are all looking toward each other. Fantastic!
