Just earlier this week we had a December Release which on Day 2 we featured caffeine themed stamps and dies! It was perfect timing for this hop and today I will be sharing with you some fun projects I made with the Hug in a Mug set. This set features some beautiful latte foam art, and I thought what better way to showcase them then to use all of them!!
I started this card out by heat embossing the mug in white throughout the card, while rotating it about 60 degrees every time I stamped it. I then watercolored the coffee inside the mug so that I can intentionally have a liquid looking texture to the content inside the cup. I then quickly dried the coloring with a heat gun so that I can begin stamping the latte art.
The latte art is stamped in white pigment ink, and with each layer of stamping, the latte art will become more and more visibly white on top of the coffee. This was just perfect as I wanted the latte art to be slightly blurry and transparent, after all, latte art is made out of milk!
I stamped all them at the same time and later went back with white watercolor to add a little more blur to some of the edges. I also used watercolor to add shading to the mug and shadows to create more dimension to the stamped images. I used the “Sending You a Hug in a Mug” sentiment from the set for the center mug stamped in cocoa pigment ink. And lastly, I masked my coffee mugs and sprinkled some coffee colored watercolor throughout. I glued my watercolored piece to kraft cardstock to complete the card.
With the holidays just around the corner, I also made another card using the same technique and stamp set, but this time also stamping the pot, and created a little gift card pouch!
I stamped little hearts that I got from the Panda Can’t Even stamp set surrounding the sentiment where I made a little pouch out of kraft cardstock.
There’s no better gift for a caffeine lover than a little extra credit to get more caffeine!
I hope you enjoyed my post today (and quite possibly while sipping on a lovely cup of coffee or tea) ;). Don’t forget to link up your holiday themed coffee, tea, or cocoa card to the blog hop for the chance to win amazing prizes, including three (3) $10 gift certificates to The Ton. Thank you so much for hopping by and have a lovely weekend!
