Baby, it’s COLD outside…

Holy moly, it got COLD this past week in my neck of the woods. I hope you’re enjoying warmer temperatures! Hi, friends, Emily here today with an appropriately-themed snowflake card and gift tag.

I love silver and aqua together, especially for snowflakes and wintery cards. Something about the combo screams “frosty” to me. The Crystal Flurries set is so incredible because of the wonderful layering possibilities for the snowflakes, but I ended up using just the top, most detailed layers to create a background for both the card and the tag.

The card was inspired by some beautiful aqua and silver snowflake wrapping paper that I have in my stash. I decided to run with that inspiration and make a shaker card that looked like a gift! I took a pale aqua card base and added snowflakes in various sizes all over the card front, first in a medium aqua ink, then in a bright silver ink over the top, occasionally overlapping the snowflakes. I created the shaker frame by die cutting a scalloped rectangle from darker aqua card stock, then die cutting the same scalloped rectangle frame from silver shimmer card stock to inlay over the top of the shaker. To create the “gift,” I die cut the largest bow from the Holiday BowsΒ and stamped it, then cut some strips of glitter cardstock to criss cross over the top of my faux gift package. I cut a strip of white card stock, then added the “for you” sentiment from Thanks a Bunch. I filled the shaker with Turquoise and Caicos, Silver Metallic, Light Sapphire, Light Blue Mini Stars, and Diamond Seed Beads.

The tag is relatively simple, but it has lots of shimmer and sparkle. I die cut a scalloped square tag that had stitching along the outer edge, then stamped the top layer of snowflakes in silver ink. I die cut the second largest bow from Holiday Bows, then popped that up over the top of some silver glitter cardstock strips. The same “for you” sentiment on a little card stock flag, some sheer white ribbon for a hanger, and that’s it!

I hope you enjoyed these projects, and I hope that wherever you are, you’re keeping warm! Have a great week, everyone!
