Purple Peony

Hello, it’s Rubeena here sharing a card that I colored with Copic markers. If you follow me on social media, you probably saw these peonies that I was practicing my coloring on:

However, for today’s card I decided to stamp and color directly on the front card base and use masking. I stamped the flower from Large Peony 3 with black hybrid ink and used masking paper so I could stamp some of the different size leaves. Then I spent some time coloring the peony using various purple Copic markers, the leaves in green and yellow colors, and adding shadows with gray colors. It’s been so relaxing to work on my coloring, blending and shading, but I still consider myself a beginner. I am almost afraid to go to the next level with details so I’m taking it easy. The details on each large peony still amazes me.

Once the image was colored to satisfaction, I rounded off the corners and attached the white cardstock to a black card base. I stamped the ‘hello’ sentiment from Large Peony 1 with VersaMark on black cardstock and heat embossed in white. I cut it into a strip that would fit across A2 cardstock and matted down with foam tape. I finished it off with some dark sequins in Shotgun Gray.

Thanks so much for stopping by today! Have a great week.

Beautiful! Love it! Thanks for the inspiration and courage to add leaves to my watercolored peony…I’m a visual person and needed to see one complete with leaves before I moved on. Still afraid of screwing it up at this stage but am truly enjoying coloring with watercolors now that I have my Zig’s. Thanks for sharing.

So beautiful. I love all your sample pieces above too. The peach one is just too beautiful, and I’m usually more a fan of purples.. heh I really like the detail you added to the one on the left too. Thank you for sharing.

Apart from being a GORGEOUS stamp, your colouring is DELIGHTFUL – LOVE IT ALL!!!
… I have to confess that I haven’t entered the magic world of Copics {{{yet}}} and I’m feeling SO TEMPTED to take the leap 🙂
