Panda Congratulations!!

Good morning, Jess here!  Today’s card is bright and has a lot going on but I love the way it turned out!  I focused on the Panda Can’t Even stamp set and coordinating dies to create a BRIGHT and cheerful card!  I didn’t intentionally create it for this purpose, but I’ll say it’s a congratulations card for the panda, Mei Xiang, who just gave birth to twins at the National Zoo this weekend! 😉

I started off by squeezing a little colorburst powder onto a piece of watercolor paper then I tilted the paper and spritzed it with water.  When the water hits the powder the color spreads instantly and tilting the paper makes sure it runs in the direction I want.  Once I liked the pattern I dried it with my heat tool and then set it aside to work on the rest of the card.

Next I stamped a bunch of pandas from the Panda Can’t Even stamp set with black dye ink and then die-cut them with the coordinating dies.  I stamped the banner and sentiment with the same black ink and fussy cut them with a similarly sized border.  I adhered the pandas in a pyramid on the watercolor panel and arranged the banner between the top two pandas.

In order to get four rows of pandas I needed to make an oversized card.  This card measures 5×7 so there weren’t any dies that I could use to create the shaker frame.  I used a ruler and a craft knife to cut a frame with a half inch border.  I adhered acetate to the back of the frame and then applied a double-layer of foam tape.  I turned that panel over and then filled it with sequins and beads!  I used seed beads in diamond, flurries, light silver, and the other slipper; bugle beads in white satin and crystal slippers; and silver metallic and glass slippers sequins for the shaker.  Before sealing the shaker I adhered a few sequins to the panda panel so that there would always be a few sequins around the pandas.

Finally, to finish the card I adhered one last panda to the card front and then created two pom-poms from twine and glued them to the panda’s paws!  It definitely makes a statement! 😉

Oh, and as you may have heard…The Ton has a release coming up VERY soon! 😉  If you look very carefully you just might find a few sneaks of upcoming release sets in the design team cards this week!  Thanks so much for visiting and see you next week!

so a cute card and idea love these pandas, and I wish someone would come out with dies to cut frames for larger cards. My self I just don’t like an A2 card I like a little bigger. To me A2’s are good for like note cards. But hey what do I know! I am a newbe!! Thanks for sharing this card its just wonderful
