Guest Designer: Virginia Lu

Hi friends at The Ton! It’s Virginia (from Yes, Virginia…) here ! I had so much fun with my last month’s guest design. I simply can’t stop playing with the ton stamps and I am happy to be sharing my projects with you today.
We all know that making masculine cards can be a challenge! However, with the right stamps and a few key elements, you will be surprised how easy it is to make masculine cards! I have chosen the perfect stamp set “The Sketchy Menagerie” to prove my point.
it's your day
I stamped the animals in three colors and kept the design fairly simple. To showcase the images better, I created a frame with pattern paper and rectangle dies. To make the design interesting, I used a Martha Stewart ribbon punch. The ribbon was trimmed off and now the moose wears a bow tie! After all, the sentiment says it all, I got to let the design go a little WILD!
you make my heart go wild
For the background, I did some tone on tone stamping. The deer image was embossed in white on kraft card stock. To add a bit of shimmer, I used applied Wink of Stella (gold) to the deer. I added a strip of pattern paper to make all the gold pop. I also added some gold splatter by applying droplets of Wink of Stella. The gold star and strings were added to complete the design.
have a majestic birthday
Using gold is always a good idea for making masculine cards, don’t you think? I love the lion images so much that I embossed it in Gold, detailed Embossing Powder on 3 different card stock. I matched them with the pattern paper (from My Minds’ Eye) and that’s it!
I hope these 3 cards inspire you to try out this versatile stamp set. I think they will be great for making Christmas cards—Rudolph the red nose reindeer, yeah Smile
