Dear Ton fans and friends! I am Virginia Lu from “Yes, Virginia…” blog. I am so pleased to share my work with The Ton here today. First of all, a little bit about myself…I am an avid stamper and have been stamping since my son was born. He is now 20! I became very active in stamping after my daughter went to college and that was in 2009. It has been a huge learning curve for me to become a better stamper. This is such a wonderful hobby and passion of mine. I have learned so much about stamping in the last few years with some success in publications and contests. I also got to meet wonderful paper crafters from all over the world (from Taiwan, UK, Denmark, Netherlands and Greece). I stumbled upon The Ton through the introduction of the talented DT Jessica and Ruby. Through their beautiful work, I noticed the artistry and versatility of these stamp designs.
Here is my first card “thank you”
This clean and simple card was very easy to create. I actually used a scrap piece (the frame) from my watercolor paper. I took the color inspiration and stamped my design with Wild Peonies. With the help of MISTI ( my new favorite tool), I was able to stamp the flower in two shades of purple and pink. I love how the stamps are so detailed and perfectly etched. I used SRM sticker for the sentiment and zig zag stitched lines. I stapled a piece of vellum and added sequin. This card is complete!
My 2nd card has more layers. I stamped the background with Peony Garden Background. I love that this large cling stamp comes with solid AND outline floral images.
I layered a piece of vellum and silver stripe. To complete the design, I stamped and cut out the image from Wild Peonies. For the final touches, I added strings and sequins and brushed the flower image with some Wink of Stella.
My last card “hello” is more muted in colors, but it is still sophisticated! I cut out a thin strip of paper and started stamping the floral images from the center with the larger flower stamps.
This stamp set Mini Wild Flowers offers so many fun images and you literally can stamp the details however you like it. After stamping the solid and outline flowers, I stamped the ferns and leaves to create a symmetrical look. I then topped it off with a stamped sentiment “hello” Fresh Cut Peonies and added the embellishments.
Thank you, Effie , for giving me the pleasure of playing with your beautiful stamps. I hope that you are inspired by today’s post and give The Ton a try if you have not already. Be Warned… you will be hooked ( like I am).
