Simple Florals on Vellum

Hi, Jess here!  Last week I saw these cards that Jennifer McGuire posted and I fell in love!  Like immediately-order-heavy-weight-vellum-so-you-can-CASE-this-card-as-soon-as-possible love…and so I did!  And here’s my interpretation of her card using the gorgeous Simple Florals stamp set!

I started off by cutting a piece of vellum into a 11″x4.25″ panel.  I scored it at 5.5″ and then used a piece of washi tape to adhere it to my work surface and mask off a bit of the vellum above the score line so no ink would get onto the back of the card.  After prepping the vellum with my powder tool, I inked up the flowers from the set with Versamark and stamped away!  I started with the largest flowers and then filled in the smaller flowers and leaves last.  I applied WOW Gold Pearl embossing powder to the ink and heat-set it!  There was a little warping so I set the vellum under a book for a few hours while I did other things.

For the sentiment I die-cut the banner four times and then added the sentiment from Thanks a Bunch to one banner.  It’s also heat-embossed with the same gold powder.  I lined up the banner on all four sides of the vellum so that there’s no adhesive showing.  And of course, to finish the card I had to add some sequins!  I LOVE the Gala Invitation Couture mix and I thought it’d be perfect on this card!

Here’s a photo from a slightly different lighting angle so you can get a better view of the embossed flowers!

Thanks so much for visiting!  Have a fabulous weekend and I’ll see you next week! 🙂
